Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do you stop your dog from chewing your house?
A: There are a couple ways that you can stop your dog from chewing your valuables. Our favorite way is to discipline, distract and deter. I understand that some of these puppies have a really strong need to chew and can be a little hard-headed. In those cases I do recommend using a tiny drop of ghost pepper sauce and rubbing it on the area the dog seems very interested in. it does not harm them nor do they feel any real discomfort but it does deter them from going back to that area. If you choose to do that make sure you are solely using ghost pepper sauce and not any type of extract or oil.
Q: When is it safe to take your puppy to dog parks?
A: It is safe to take your dog to a dog park once they have received at least four rounds of Parvo vaccinations. Most dogs on a regular schedule will not hit that number until 1 years old. If you choose to bring your dog before that time you are taking a serious risk with their health. Keep in mind there's other ways to socialize your dog that does not have to include the dog park like doggy playdates, dog friendly patios, dog friendly stores, etc.
Q: How big will my Mastiff get?
A: It is difficult to predict how large your English Mastiff will be. There are a number of factors that play into that including diet exercise and genetics. We typically can at 6 months give an estimate of how large a Mastiff will be as an adult.
Q: Are North American Mastiffs AKC registered?
A: No, North American Mastiffs are not currently eligible for registration with the AKC. However, they are an emerging breed that we hope will gain AKC recognition in the future. At present, North American Mastiffs can be registered with the CKC and certain designer breed registries.
Q: Do you deliver?
A: We do not currently offer delivery or partner with any third-party transportation services. However, we are happy to meet you partway, covering up to 4 hours of driving distance at a rate of $1 per mile.
Q: Will my puppy come with all their vaccinations?
A: Yes, your puppy will receive all age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming treatments to ensure they are healthy and up-to-date before joining their new home.
Q: How are the puppies being socialized?
A: While raising your puppies, we ensure they are well-socialized by introducing them to a variety of people, including adults and children, as well as other animals, such as cats. This exposure helps them develop confidence and adaptability in diverse environments.
Q: What do you feed the puppies?
A: We provide our puppies with a well-rounded and nutritious diet to support their growth and development. In their early stages, they primarily nurse from their mother and are supplemented with whole, human-grade goat's milk for added nutrition. As they grow older, we transition their meals to Victor High Energy Dry Kibble, 4Health Wet Puppy Food, Slow cooked chicken and chicken broth, and a consistent incorporation of raw feeding. This balanced approach ensures they receive the essential nutrients they need to thrive.
